Celebrate Independence Day in style this year with these cool and refreshing July 4th Red White and Blue Frozen Bomb Pop Cocktail.
It’s that time of year again, Friends! Time to fire up the barbecue, blow stuff up and break out everything red, white and blue you can find. That’s right… it’s all about the Fourth of July and that means a great big July 4th Red White and Blue Frozen Bomb Pop Cocktail!!!!
As I have mentioned before, July 4th is a very big deal in my family. There is always lots of cold drinks, tables of amazing food, the occasional round of burnt hamburgers, games set up on the lawn for the kids (small and grown up) and fireworks by the TRUCKLOADS. It’s always a great day spent with family and friends to celebrate the birth of the good ol’ U.S.A.
What better way to show off your red white and blue spirit than the perfect frozen drink to keep you cool on a hot July day? A July 4th Red White and Blue Frozen Bomb Pop Cocktail, of course!!! This is the most amazing drink and the flavors will take you right back to that age when all you were allowed to touch were sparklers and Bang Snaps.
Oh course, copious amounts of alcohol will remind you that you aren’t that kid anymore 🙂
C’mon .. you know the drill. July is HOT!! I don’t mean it’s a bit warm and you should think about wearing a short sleeved shirt this year. I mean it’s HOT!! HOT!! HOT!!! and if you are down here in Florida with me, you also know that on top of sweltering temperatures we also have a lovely little thing called 98% HUMIDITY to go with the HOT!! HOT!! HOT!!! and that pretty much means your pretty blue eye shadow is going to melt right down your pretty sweaty face. It happens every year and there is no getting around it unless you plant yourself at the appetizer table in the air condition and you don’t even think about stepping foot outside.
The problem with this plan is that although you have prime real estate sitting in front of the finger foods and absolutely everybody will be coming in to ‘visit’ you, undoubtedly the beer coolers are usually all pulled outside and unless you want to sip on ice water all day, you will eventually have to venture out into the HOT!! HOT!! HOT!!! and BAM .. there goes your makeup AND your hair in one fell swoop.
*** And for all you men who are reading this and are thinking this problem does not apply to you .. my husbands beard hates humidity just as much as my hair does so come summer we both turn into two poofy poofs with bad hair so laugh if you want … it can happen to YOU too! ***
Now, this July 4th tragedy can be avoided by one easy step. The July 4th Red White and Blue Frozen Bomb Pop Cocktail! It’s festive, it’s frozen and you won’t have to go outside until you are ready… and when you do you will be met with OOOOs and AAAAAHHHs as everyone takes in your amazing red white and blue glass of refreshing AWESOMENESS!!
God Bless America!
Keep it safe kids.. this drink packs a whallop (Yes, I used the word WHALLOP!) .. drink in moderation or if you are Party Rocking turn those keys over and call a cab.
Enjoy your holiday!!
Psst… Now that we are friends, don’t you think we should spend some more time together? That’s what besties do, right? Don’t forget to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest .. and yup, even Instagram!

- 1.5 oz Vodka - Cherry flavor
- 1.5 oz Vodka - Raspberry flavor
- 3 oz Grenadine
- 3 oz Blue Curacao
- Lots of ice .. approx 6-8 cups
Start by making a simple syrup by combining sugar and water in a microwave safe bowl and heating on High for 2 minutes
Remove and stir sugar until completely dissolved and then move to the refrigerator - COOL COMPLETELY (really really important!!.. trust me, I learned the hard way)
Once cooled, add 2 oz of the simple syrup to your blender along with the lemon flavored vodka and 3 cups of ice
Blend on High until the ice reaches a slushy consistency.. add more ice if necessary.
Move the lemon ice to a glass and place in the freezer while you prepare the other layers
Add 2 oz of simple syrup to the blender with the cherry vodka and the Grenadine and then add 3 cups of ice.
Blend on high until it reaches the slushy consistency and then move that to a glass and place into the freezer.
Rinse out the blender.. and the top ....
Add 2 oz of simple syrup to the blender with the raspberry vodka and the Blue Curacao and then add another 3 cups of ice and then blend on high until it reaches the slushy consistency
Take out the other two glasses from the freezer and spoon red white and blue layers into a tall glass.
