But calling for takeout even every couple of weeks can definitely add up quick. Plus it doesn’t help that Big Scary Mike and I both like different kinds of pizza so unless we are willing to share (#nope) then that means we are ordering two pizzas and even though we don’t eat them all in one sitting and get two meals out of it, it still adds up pretty quick. It’s easier, more convenient and usually quicker to just pick up that phone and have your BFF Pizza Man bring you dinner/lunch/snack/breakfast (not judging). That all may be true but what if there was a different way? Frozen pizzas are fine and homemade pizzas are better so what if there was an alternative the delivery place around the corner other than just plain ol’ pizza? What if you could have the delicious taste of delivery pizza but also still have control of the ingredients used to make your pie? Stay with me …

These Pull Apart Pizza Rolls combine the best of both worlds! Super easy to make while still giving you the control of what ingredients to feed your family, nothing could be simpler.

Unfortunately, I do not have a recipe for homemade pizza dough at this time and based on past recipe posts, many of you already know that I am a horrible dough maker. It’s a process, I am working on it.

That being said, I buy my fresh pizza dough ready-made in the bakery section of my local grocery store. If you have a favorite dough recipe, by all means use that. Either way, I promise that this will be your new favorite go-to for your pizza fix. And let’s not forget how great these are for kids and especially for parties. Instead of blowing up the bank by ordering a ton of pizza pies, these Pull Apart Pizza Rolls are perfect for entertaining. Football munchies, kids parties, social gatherings or just staying home on a Friday night … who doesn’t love pizza?

Enjoy!!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes
Serving Size 28 Peices

Ingredients

  • 16 oz fresh pizza dough
  • 8 tbl butter , divided
  • 3 tbl flour
  • 4 oz pepperoni slices or whatever toppings you like best
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese , grated
  • Marinara sauce for dipping , optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Start by sprinkling flour on your work station and on the pizza dough so that it will not stick and melt 6 tbl butter in a microwave safe bowl.
  • Pour a small amount of butter into a 9" pie pan and roll the pan around to coat the bottom of the pan lightly with butter
  • Rip off a piece of pizza dough from the dough ball about the size of golf ball. Using your fingers, flatten the piece of dough until it is about 3 inches across and then cover with 2-3 pepperoni slices (or whatever topping you like) and thick 1" slice of cheese.
  • Bring the sides together and pinch the sides of the dough so that there are no openings
  • Lightly roll into ball form or as close as you can get it 🙂
  • Place the roll into the pie pan and repeat all the steps until you have no more dough
  • Pour the melted butter over the pizza rolls and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown
  • Melt remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in a microwave safe bowl
  • Remove from oven and pour the last 2 tablespoons of melted butter over the rolls and sprinkle the top with Parmesan cheese
  • Serve immediately with your favorite marinara sauce for dipping
