I know, I may be a bit early with this LIFE CHANGING announcement but seriously, THIS girl loves all things pumpkin. Go ahead and throw anything and everything pumpkin at me and believe me, I will scarf it down in the blink of an eye. Everything from Pumpkin Snickerdoodle cookies to Pumpkin Crunch Cake and especially Pumpkin Smoothies!
In my never ending quest to eat healthier without giving up the decadent flavors I love most, this Pumpkin Smoothie is currently topping my list for New Favorite Go To Meals. Talk about packing in the protein and starting your day out right!! This smoothie is the perfect combination of rich pumpkiny goodness while completely supporting healthier lifestyle choices… what more could you ask for?

I will confess that usually I am very set in my ways with my morning ritual (#cheesestick) but I’ve been trying to switch it up a bit. You know the drill, eat more veggies and fruit and chicken and leave the pizza and sweets and carbs by the wayside. Anyone who has lived most of their life eating whatever they want with no concern of silly things like ‘weight’ or ‘health’ or even just feeling better knows how hard it is to make that change. It doesn’t come overnight and it can bring forth a lot of difficult mealtime decisions .. and personal bartering … but if you can start with one baby step, well, the next one is a little easier to take.
Besides, you totally feel like a superhero when you can turn down a chocolate glazed donut and drink down a Pumpkin Smoothie instead.
I’ve been drinking these Pumpkin Smoothie every morning this past week and it’s the tastiest way to start the day.. and it even compliments my huge steaming cup of coffee too. These are the important unmentionable qualities that keep the world on track, my friends!

You might as well give in because you know it’s here and you know you will do it.. it’s near impossible to immerse yourself in the “Pumpkin Everything’ season .. why not at least have a healthier Pumpkin Smoothie alternative in your back pocket to ward off the temptation of 1500 calorie pumpkin muffins?
- 1/2 cup Pumpkin Greek Yogurt (or vanilla)
- 1/4 tsp pumpkin spice
- 1 cup non-fat milk or almond milk
- 1-2 tbl maple syrup
- 3/4 cup pumpkin pie filling
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 apple... (SHHH .. secret ingredient to make it sweet!)
- 1/2 banana
- 1 cup ice
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)
Using a blender or Ninja, combine all items and blend on High for 2-3 minutes or until completely smooth.
